Rita Rousseau Cascadden, a lifelong resident of Littleton NH, died Monday January 15, 2018 at the age of 96 after spending 13 years at Genesis Eldercare in Franconia. Rita was born in Littleton to Napoleon and Delima Rousseau; she graduated from Littleton High School and was married to Byron William Cascadden in 1943.
Rita owned her own business, Oak Hill Residence, where she cared for the aged and infirm in her own home while at the same time raising five children. Rita is survived by her four sons and their wives, Creg and Dianne (Derry), Neil and Corinne (Berlin), Marc and Teresa (Amherst), and Dean and Crystal (Meredith) as well as her daughter, Sara (Littleton). She was a faithful member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church and enjoyed making rosaries with the Catholic Daughters in her later years.
Rita was a strong woman with a generous heart who always put family and friends before her own needs. She was known as a very kind and loving person who welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. She cared for people of all ages, including her 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Rita leaves a legacy of gentle strength and mercy that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
SERVICES -- Calling hours will be Friday January 19, 2018 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Home. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Rose of Lima Church on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00AM with Rev. Mark E. Dollard as Celebrant.
