Rita M. Desmarais

Rita M. (Philibert) Desmarais, 84, of 60 Riverfront Drive, died April 22, 2009 at the Elliot Hospital. She was born in Bedford on April 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Arthur and Angeline (Halle) Philibert and had been a Bedford resident for most of her life before moving to Manchester seven years ago. She was a bookkeeper by trade and had worked for Table Talk Pies and also Kessler Shoe Company. She was the widow of Gerard Desmarais who died in 2002. She was a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church Family members include her daughter, Pauline Patten of Hooksett; three sons, Donald Desmarais of Epsom, Raymond Desmarais of Williamstown, NJ and Paul Desmarais of Milford, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Philibert of Wentworth; two sisters, Antoinette Powers of MA and Jeannette Vigneault of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. For more information, go to www.phaneuf.net.
