Rita A. Fragos

Rita A. (Panetta) Fragos, 79, of Bedford, passed away on August 2, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Waltham, MA on December 12, 1944, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rita (Denault) Panetta. She worked for many years for the United State Postal Service until her retirement. Prior to that, she worked for the YMCA in Manchester. She spent most of her free time with her family, whom she adored. She grew up in Lincoln Mass and loved helping her grandparents on the Panetta Family farm. She was a remarkable person who touched the lives of many. Her dedication to family, her green thumb, and her hobbies like knitting (with one of her cats playing with the yarn), gardening and feeding the birds are beautiful aspects of her life to remember.

Family members include her son, George Fragos and his wife Rebecca of New Boston; two daughters, Patricia Ford and her husband Tim of Bedford and Nicole Fragos and her husband Jeffrey Hadley of Bedford nine grandchildren, Justin Ford, Nicholas Fragos, Max Fragos, Zach Trudeau and his wife Taylor, Brittanie Holmes, Jennie Hadley, Carl Hadley, Mackenzie Hadley, and Isabella Hadley; three great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, and cousins. 

Calling hours will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester on Thursday, August 8th from 4 to 7 PM with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 7 PM. Burial will be in the family lot on Friday at 11:00 AM in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at https://alzfdn.org/donate.
