Rita N. (Chaput) Mailhot, 81, of 104 Dunbarton Road, died August 21, 2004 at Catholic Medical Center. She was born in Bedford on December 30, 1922, the daughter of Auguste and Roseanna (Martineau) Chaput and had been a lifelong resident of the Manchester area. She worked for Manchester Knitted Fashions until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Ste. Marie Church. She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Mailhot who died in 1999. Family members include her husband of 65 years, Adrien Andrew Mailhot; four sons, Roger Mailhot and Fernand Mailhot, both of Manchester, Raymond Mailhot of Lehigh Acres, FL and Richard Mailhot of Manchester; three daughters, Mrs. Normand (Lorraine) Petit of Manchester, Mrs. Philip (Doris) Abair of Andover and Mrs. Richard (Joyce) West of Barrington; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; a brother, Armand Chaput of Manchester; two sisters, Irene Philibotte and Theresa Johnson, both of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
