Rita A. Methot died on March 30, 2017. She was born November 10. 1932 in Wilimantic, CT. She survived 84 years following a postnatal accident, leaving her a lifelong paraplegic. She was one of 13 children born to Bernadette (Boutin) Methot and Arthur Methot. She was a resident for four years at a Shriner's Children Hospital in Springfield, CT.
Rita managed to graduate in 1956 from Ste. Marie High School. She did piecework at home for several companies and also worked at the Rex Theater as a ticket clerk in Manchester, NH.
Her hobbies included handicrafts, cooking, classical music and Red Sox Baseball. She will be missed by friends and family.
Rita was a communicant of Ste. Marie Parish, wheeling herself to the services.
She is survived by 10 siblings, most of whom live in the Manchester area: Gerard, Robert, Marcel, Raymond, Alphee, Clement, Jean-Guy, Paul and Theresa (Methot), as well as Archambault and Angele (Methot) Morrissey of Florida. Joseph and Normand predeceased her. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH on Monday, April 3rd from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 10am at Ste. Marie Parish, 378 Notre Dame Ave, Manchester, NH. She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
