Mrs. Rita L. Nelson, 87, of Manchester, died September 14, 2007 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. She was born in Manchester on October 1, 1919 the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Paradise) Duclos. She was educated in Canada. She was a resident of Manchester for many years. She had lived in Dover for over twenty years and then moved to Florida. She had been living in Manchester for the past year and a half. Mrs. Nelson had worked at several different jobs throughout her career. She had worked as a housekeeper and nanny over the years. She had also worked in nursing homes as an aide and in the shoe shops at various times. She loved to travel taking trips to Arizona to visit her sisters, Hawaii and other parts of the country and taking bus trips. She also loved animals and would often housesit for others. She is survived by her three sons, Henry M. Gagnon of Manchester, Richard J. Gagnon of Merrimack and Normand B. Gagnon of Weeki Wachee, FL; sister, Helene Genest of Tucson, AZ and several nieces. She was predeceased by her first husband Joseph A. Gagnon and her second husband Maurice Nelson. Calling Hours are on Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, on the corner of Union St, Manchester. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00AM. Following Cremation, burial will be at St. Augustin Cemetery.
