Robert D. Baillargeon, 61, of 13 Central Street, died May 20, 2000 at the Elliot Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lawrence, MA on May 5, 1939, the son of Antonio and Mabel (Huot) Baillargeon and had lived in the Manchester area for many years. He had been a cobbler at Elm Street Shoe Repair and was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. He was a 32nd Degree mason and was a member of the Observance Lodge in Nashville, TN. He was a member of the Legion of Honor of the Shriners and also a member of the Bektash Temple. He belonged to the Winona Social Club in Manchester. Family members include his two sons, Christopher A. Baillargeon and Patrick D. Baillargeon, both of Alexandria, VA; a stepson, James Tauberschmidt of Jonesboro, Ark; three grandchildren and one great grandson; his brother and sister-in-law, Antonio and (Susan) Baillargeon of Manchester; his ex-wife, Shirley B. Baillargeon of Alexandria, VA; his close friend, Scott Gordon of Manchester; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
