ROBERT BOB ERWIN BEAN
LISBON, NH -- Robert Bob Erwin Bean, AGE 74, died May 26, 2008 at his home in Lisbon of a lengthy illness.
Bob was born in Littleton, on January 16, 1934, a son to Oscar Erwin Bean and Bertha Richards Bean Thorne. He was a lifetime resident of Lisbon and attended Lisbon High School. He was employed in the lumber business at Varney & Smith Lumber/Newman Lumber and HG Woods. He was employed by the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation until a stroke in 1995 forced his early retirement.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and bird watching. He participated in many moose hunts, was a member of the DMIP, and was a speaker at Hunters Safety programs. He was also a member of the New Hampshire Gas & Steam Association. He loved antiquities and history, particularly when those subjects involved the Clan MacBean or the Revolutionary or Civil War eras.
He was a self-taught bones player. He always tried to educate all around him and was an avid reader. He would tell you that he was proudest of his role as a
loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
