Robert F. Bettoney, 68, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home early on the morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Robert was born in Brockton, MA on July 27, 1955, to Robert and Helen (Henneberger) Bettoney and was raised in Braintree, MA. Robert proudly served his county with the US Navy, retiring after 20 years of military service, which included more than 10 deployments and visiting every continent except Antarctica.  Robert had countless stories that began with, “When I was in the Navy…” Following his retirement from the armed forces in 1997, Robert began a rewarding career in Biomedical Engineering, most recently working at Dartmouth Health in Manchester.

Robert is survived by his wife, Peggy O’Malley; his children Kelli Bettoney of CA and Scott Bettoney of AK; his siblings, Susan Whisman and Ann Schwep, both of OR, and David Bettoney of NH; and his close lifelong friends Gil and Lisa Buthlay of SC.

Robert will be laid to rest with Military Honors at 2:00pm Thursday, June 13, 2024, at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. Family and friends are invited to attend. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.
