Robert Carr

Robert Wayne Carr, 59, died January 3, 2020 at home in Webster, New Hampshire. He was born on December 31, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the second child to Carole Carr (Brown). He grew up alongside his brothers and sister in Milton, Pennsylvania where there was never a dull moment. He graduated from Milton High School in 1979.

Bob served in the United States Navy from 1979 to 1983. While deployed on the Kitty Hawk he traveled the world, notably to Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. He served in Grenada and Beirut, surviving the Barracks Bombing of October 23, 1983. After his time in the Navy he quickly found a passion for his next adventure; firefighting. He was a firefighter with the Manchester Fire Department, Loudon Fire Department and at Hanscomb Air Force Base. Bob was trained in numerous fields such as hazmat, confined space, rope rescue, mountain rescue, incident command and Emergency Medical Technician services. He put out numerous fires, aided in many rescues, and provided relief to many families all while doing what he loved.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors in many forms. He was an avid rock climber, climbing all over New England. He loved hiking as well, especially in the White Mountains. Tuckerman's Ravine and the Presidential Range were two of his favorite places to hike and climb. While he enjoyed being in the mountains, he also enjoyed being in the water fly-fishing. If Bob wasn't outside, you could find him in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal or watching NASCAR on a Sunday afternoon.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Carr.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Carr of Webster, New Hampshire; a daughter, Keri P. Carr of Boscawen, New Hampshire; a son, Gabriel N. Carr of Webster, New Hampshire; a nephew, Joshua M. Blye of Webster, New Hampshire; and a grandson, Owen C. Knox of Boscawen, New Hampshire.
He is also survived by his brother, Max Carr of Edison, New Jersey; sister Ann Merwede of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother Chip Carr of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother John Carr of Virginia Beach, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home 172 King Street Boscawen, New Hampshire from 12:30 to 2:30pm on Friday January 17, 2019. There will be no viewing. Cemetery committal with military honors will take place at 3:00pm on Friday January 17, 2019 at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire. Following the services there will be a gathering at Alan's of Boscawen 133 N. Main Street Boscawen, New Hampshire. Family and friends are invited to attend.
