Robert Clifton Chase

Robert Clifton (Bob) Chase formally of Littleton, NH, died on October 7, 2009 at Lafayette Genesis in Franconia, NH. He was born in Littleton, NH on February 8, 1928, son of Roland and Irene (Connors). On January 10,1948 he married Eleanor Shirley Smith who predeceased him on June 19, 2009. Robert was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Littleton, where he served on many committees and was custodian for many years. Robert worked for the Highway Department for the State of New Hampshire for 30 years until his retirement; prior to that he was a mechanic at Downing's Garage in Littleton. Survivors include one son Clifton R. and wife Linda Chase of Orange, MA; one daughter Alice M. and Matt Cross of Fuguay-Varina, NC; six grandchildren Steven Chase, Clifton Barney, Charles Floyd, Jr., Katrina Betts, Christine Blodgett, and Austin Cross; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He also leaves his best friends and caregivers, Nancy and Charlie Collins of Littleton. In addition to his wife, Bob was predeceased by his parents, brothers: Arthur, Leonard, Edward, Everett (Skip), and Douglas Chase, sisters: Rebecca Chase and Sylvia Rayburn, and grand-daughter Abbey Beth Cross. Memorials may be made to the Littleton First United Methodist Church, Handicap Access Fund. A graveside service will be held at East Burke Cemetery in East Burke, VT on June 19th at 11am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller & Pillsbury Funeral Homes.
