Robert E. Bob Cloutier, 70, of 311 Cohas Avenue, Manchester, died September 27, 2005 at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Manchester on December 22, 1934, the son of Germain and Aurore (Jean) Cloutier and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a graduate of St. Anthony High School, Class of 1954. He received a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Lowell Technical College in 1974. He had also served in the United States Air Force and the New Hampshire Air National Guard. He retired from Lockheed Sanders of Nashua after many years of service as a principal engineer. In his retirement, he was an executive board member of the Granite State Senior Games and competed at the local and national level. He enjoyed competitive sports all his life, including football, track, bowling, softball, racquetball, tennis and shuffleboard. He was an accomplished woodcarver whose projects included special requests from his grandchildren. In his life: He leaves his wife of 48 years, Madeleine (Bourque) Cloutier; three sons, James Cloutier and his wife Debbie of Manchester, David Cloutier and his wife Barbi-Jo of Manchester and Kenneth Cloutier and his wife Patricia of Bennington; a daughter, Priscilla Rennie and her husband Craig of Concord; eight grandchildren, Molly, Sarah, Devon, Bradley, Ian, Skylar, Ainsley and Joseph; three brothers, Paul Cloutier and Ronald Cloutier, both of Manchester and Raymond Cloutier of CT; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematoium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 in St. Anthony Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
