Robert Alfred Cloutier, 78 of Auburn, NH, passed away peacefully on Feburary 20, 2018 at the Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Manchester, NH on August 11, 1939 to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Marion) Cloutier.

After graduating high school, Bob enlisted and honorably served in the United States Army. At a young age he built and drove his own race cars before he even had a driver's liscense. He raced at Manchester Motordrom when he was 15 years old. He was one of the founders of NESMA. He was a super modified race car driver and was well known at Star Speedway, Lee Speedway, Loudon Race Track and all of the local tracks from Canada to Florida.
Captain Bob, as he was known to all his friends, was a very successful business man, who had drive and determination. He owned two businesses during his lifetime. Fresh Atlantic Fisheries, which he ran a charter business for deep sea fishing on his beloved boat Utopia. Bob also owned Affordable Quality Homes and built homes in the Epping and Raymond area.

He loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving and camping. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed telling stories around the campfire with his family and friends, which everyone will miss.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Elizabeth (Gamble) Cloutier of Auburn, NH, sister Dorothy Lee and her husband Don of Manchester, NH, son Brian Cloutier and his wife Laurie of Hooksett, NH, stepsons Joseph Higginbottom and his wife Jodi of Cheyenne, WY, Brian Higginbottom of Manchester, NH, Keith Higginbottom and his wife Michelle of Pelham, NH, Gregory Higginbottom and his wife Amy of Weare,NH, stepdaughers Kerri Leduc and her husband Daniel of Goffstown, NH and Kimberly Chaput and her husband Greg of Lancaster, MA, 26 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: A gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium located at 243 Hanover St Manchester on Saturday March 3rd 2018 from 1- 3 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3 PM. A celebration of life luncheon will be held immediately following services. Family and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Declan the Dinosaur, a foundation created on behalf of Bob's brave 5 year old great nephew who is currently fighting leukemia.
