Robert E. Comey, 79, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024 with his family by his side.
Born May 1, 1945 in North Attleboro, MA where he graduated from local schools in 1963. He is the son of the late Earl J. Comey and the late Jeannette L. (Poulin) Comey. He lived most of his life in Manchester.
Mr. Comey was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 2 in Manchester, and lifetime member VFW Post 10217 in Korat, Thailand. Mr. Comey is a retired supervisor for Osram Sylvania and prior to that he was the general manager for Poulin Machine and Tool Co. in Nashua. During his lifetime, he collected political buttons and baseball memorabilia. Beginning at a young age, he was an avid baseball fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. He attended many games with his Dad and later on with his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maureen E. (Beddia) Comey, and two sons, Robert E. Comey and James R. Comey both of Manchester, and his beloved yellow labrador retrievers.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 10:30am – 12:30pm at The Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street In Manchester. A burial with military honors will follow at 2pm at The NH State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
