Robert R. Denoncourt, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at home October 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. Born on February 18, 1939, in Manchester, NH, Robert's life was defined by hard work, dedication, and a profound love for his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Robert was a hard worker, engaging in various jobs across many different trades. Robert's personality was characterized by a blend of friendliness, sociability, and quiet respectfulness. He had a remarkable ability to make friends with anyone and everyone, often stopping to share a friendly conversation during his daily walks. His genuine interest in others was evident in his interactions, further enriching his relationships with friends and neighbors. Robert particularly cherished attending state fairs, where he would reconnect with acquaintances and revel in the community spirit.
A faithful parishioner of St. Augustin Church for many years, Robert took immense comfort and strength through his faith. Moreover, he served honorably in the US Army, a chapter of his life he cherished deeply.
Anyone who knew Robert will remember his passion for researching and sharing his family genealogy, reflecting his interest in connecting with his roots and extending that connection to his loved ones. He truly thrived while surrounded by family, always gathering with them for moments of joy and togetherness.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Pauline Denoncourt; daughters Sheila Davis and her husband Thomas, Cheryl Woodbury, and Shelby Laughner and her husband Thomas; brother Roger Denoncourt and his wife Jeannine; as well as eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also remembered fondly by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.
Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert Jr. “BJ” Denoncourt; brother Eddie Denoncourt; sister Rose Morris; and sister Irene Shipman.
Funeral Services for Robert will be held at St. Anne - St. Augustin Church in Manchester, NH, on Monday, October 21, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at St. Augustin Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
