Robert Godzyk

Robert Godzyk, 81, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Elliot Hospital. Bob was born on February 24, 1941 to the late Peter Godzyk and Genevieve (Wyskiel) Godzyk.

Bob was the loving husband of Gayle (Arnold) Godzyk for 57 years. He was an adoring father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He spent many happy days with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob worked at the Union Leader and NH Sunday News for 48 years from 1960 to 2008 as an apprentice, a journeyman, and foreman of the composing room. He attended Weston and Chandler Elementary Schools in Manchester and graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1958. In 1964, he received a diploma in printing from the International Typographical Union of North America and later received an Associate Degree from New Hampshire Community College.

He leaves his wife, Gayle Godzyk of Manchester, NH; his two loving sons and their wives, Scott W. Godzyk and Nancy of Manchester, NH and Brian K. Godzyk and Cyndi of Hooksett, NH; four grandchildren, Casey, Corey, Caley and Ashley Godzyk; seven great-grandchildren, Colby, Charlie, Ellie, Willa, Mabel, Griffin and Rowan Godzyk; as well as a loving family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and lots of friends old and new. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, William “Billy” Godzyk of Auburn.

Bob battled Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia for a number of years and fought it diligently.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 20^th from 2-4PM with a funeral service at 4PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. For those who cannot attend in person, the 4PM funeral service will be livestreamed at https://phaneuf.net/streaming

 Burial will be Tuesday, February 21^st at 11AM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave, Manchester, NH.
