Robert Joseph Methot, 88, passed away August 11, 2018, at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown.
Robert, son of the late Arthur and Bernadette (Boutin) Methot was born October 29, 1929 in Willimantic, CT. Bob graduated from Ste. Marie High School. He was an Army veteran from 1951-1953 and served overseas. He worked for J.J. Moreau's, Goulet Supply and Granite State Plumbing. He was a former Commander of Catholic War Veteran Post 1749, he was a member of the League of Sacred Heart, Jutras Post 43, and the Hooksett Entertainers.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marie Rose (Deziel), four sons, Leon (deceased), his wife Denise of Weare, Norman, his wife Janet, Donald, of Manchester, Henry, his wife Phyllis (deceased) of La Luz, NM and Phillip, his wife Sheryl of Weare. He also leaves three daughters, Muriel, her husband Richard Allaire of Palm Bay, FL, Diane, her husband George Roberge of Manchester, and Anita, her husband Marc Boisvert of Goffstown.
He had 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Bob leaves six brothers and two sisters, Gerard, Raymond, Alphee, Clement, Therese Archambault all of Manchester, Jean Guy of Chester, Paul of Candia, Angele Morrissey of Sebastian, FL. He was predeceased by a brother Marcel Methot of Fullerton, CA and sister Rita Methot of Manchester.
Bob enjoyed all sports, fishing with his dad, bingo, jigsaw puzzles, singing and spending time with his family. He had a quick wit and enjoyed teasing everyone. He had a way with children and enjoyed singing them to sleep. He loved his family and had many hobbies.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church, Manchester. Committal services with military honors will follow in the mausoleum chapel at Mt.
