Robert Allan Nesbitt Sr., 93, of Merrimack, NH, passed away at home on February 4, 2024 with the love of his life holding his hand. Born on June 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Allan and Muriel (Lambert) Nesbitt. He shared 71 years of marriage with Edith C. (Bowman) Nesbitt.
Bob was a 1948 graduate of Everett High School and he attended Boston University. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. He served in the Army Security Agency and was stationed in Alaska. He worked many years for Allied Van Lines and earned national awards for his expertise as an Executive Corporate Sales Consultant for overseas moving. Bob was a youth director at Winter Hill Congregational Church in Somerville, MA for 20 years. He also gave many inspirational sermons, making you feel like you were walking side by side with Jesus. Bob was also a member of American Legion, Post 0098.
We will remember and hold close to our hearts his smile, energy, humor, kindness, and the many stories he loved to tell. His favorite activities later in life were smoking cigars with “all his boys” and watching westerns.
Bob’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Edith Nesbitt; his son, Robert Nesbitt Jr. and his wife Tricia; his son David Nesbitt; and his daughter Barbara Nesbitt. He was a doting grandfather to Katie, Robert III, David and Travis.
His absence will be profoundly felt by a community of friends and colleagues who respected and admired him. He touched and made a difference in the lives of many.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12th from 4PM-6PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13th at 10AM. Burial to follow at 12PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
