Robert “Bobby” Ongaba, 44, of Manchester, NH

Born July 20, 1980, in Palisa, Uganda — Passed April 30, 2025, at Elliot Hospital

Robert “Bobby” Ongaba’s generous heart knew no boundaries—he never judged by race, height, or background. After moving to United states in 2012, he quickly established himself as a dynamic IT leader and Principal Cloud Architect for Amazon Web Services. Even amid the relentless demands of his profession—where designing scalable cloud infrastructures and guiding complex migrations were daily tasks—Robert always paused to help others. His door was perpetually open to colleagues wrestling with technical challenges or anyone simply in need of advice, because he believed that every person’s success and well-being mattered.

As a brilliant mind, Robert moved effortlessly between writing elegant code, repairing computers for friends who could not afford repairs, and completing piles of complex paperwork with meticulous care. Yet beyond his technical prowess, his true gift lay in his boundless compassion. If you ever felt stuck—whether at work, at home, or within your own head—he would drop everything to guide you. He celebrated others’ victories as though they were his own: a promotion, a breakthrough in a challenging project, or even the courage to speak up when it mattered most. To many, Robert was not just a colleague but a trusted mentor, a close friend, and a wise adviser whose insight felt like a warm embrace.

Life for Robert was never confined strictly to circuits and servers. When the workday ended, he transformed into the life of any gathering. After a long day of cloud architecture meetings, you could find him dancing with infectious energy to the rhythms of Ugandan music that reminded him of home, or belting out lyrics to global hits during impromptu karaoke sessions. His laughter was legendary—so genuine and hearty that even the most reserved person in the room couldn’t help but smile.

At home, Robert’s devotion shone brightest. He worked long hours, not out of necessity, but because he was driven to ensure his family’s happiness, security, and togetherness. When he was not debugging server issues or drafting cloud deployment plans, he was planning the next family barbecue—meticulously selecting spices, perfecting marinades, and orchestrating meals where everyone felt both welcome and cherished. Those gatherings transcended food; they were sanctuaries of laughter, warmth, and belonging. Whether a neighbor, cousin, or childhood friend from Uganda showed up, Robert made certain they felt at home.

Robert is survived by his beloved companion, Belyse Wizeye; his cherished daughter, Brinley Ongaba; his mother, Pulzkiseda Apoura, and his dad who also passed. of Uganda; and numerous family members back in Uganda who will carry his legacy of kindness in their hearts. He also leaves behind countless friends and colleagues whose lives he enriched through mentorship, friendship, and unwavering support.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Funeral Mass will follow from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Robert’s body will then be repatriated to Uganda for burial, an honor that holds profound significance for our family.

Robert’s generosity, kindness, and unwavering love for those around him will forever remain a beacon guiding us through our darkest hours. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit lives on in every life he touched, every problem he helped solve, and every smile he inspired. May we honor his memory by sharing compassion as freely as he did and keeping his light alive in our hearts.
