ROBERT W. OTTAWAY Robert W. Ottaway, 76, of Summerfield, FL, died Sunday, October 14, at Monroe Regional Medical Center, in Ocala, Florida. He was born on May 29, 1931, in Schenectady, NY, the son of the late Harris and Mary (Hornbeck) Ottaway. Mr. Ottaway was a resident of Summerfield, FL for the past 3 ½ years. Prior to this, he lived in Bedford, NH. Prior to retiring, Mr. Ottaway worked as a robotics engineer for Sander’s Associates and FCI Burndy Products. Mr. Ottaway was a veteran, having served for 6 years in the Air National Guard. He was a former parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, in Bedford. He was a lifetime member of the I.E.E.E. Mr. Ottaway also belonged to the Robotics Society, and the Purdue Alumni Association. He held a private pilots license, and was a member of the Aircraft Experimental Association. Family members include; his wife of 49 years, Joan (Clooney) Ottaway, of Summerfield, FL; 1 son, Scott W. Ottaway, of Knoxville, TN; 2 daughters, Robin M. Ostrander, of Ballston Spa, NY; Mary Ellen Farrell, of Bedford, 7 grandchildren, 1 brother, Gerald H. Ottaway, of Pleasant Valley, NY; 1 sister, Betty Jean Jackson, of Rainbow Springs, FL; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton, 190 Meetinghouse Road, in Bedford. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, in Manchester. Inurnment will take place at a later time at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to The American Lung Association, 9 Cedarwood Drive, #12, Bedford, NH 03110, in memory of Mr. Ottaway.
