Robert H. Piper, 74, of 137 Peabody Avenue, died August 28, 2003 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Molone, NY on July 30, 1929, the son of Wilbert and Maude (Burbank) Piper and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He had worked for Leighton Machine Company for 45 years until his retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family members include his wife of 49 years, Mary (Laflamme) Piper; four sons, Donald Piper of SC, Robert Piper of Pinardville, Raymond Piper and David Piper both of Manchester; a daughter, Irene Chestnut of Pembroke; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM with the funeral service to take place in the funeral home at 8 PM.
