OBITUARY NOTICE
ROBERT J. REMILLARD
BEDFORD â Robert J. Remillard, 85, died on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Community Hospice House, in Merrimack, NH, feeling truly loved.
Bob was born on June 11, 1926, in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Alphonse and Alice (Bouchard) Remillard. He grew up and was educated in Manchester, moving to Bedford in 1972.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy as a gunner on an ammunition ship and as a French translator during the invasion of Normandy.
After the war, he was employed as a police officer, and worked for the City of Manchester for 18 years. On several occasions, he received recognition for meritorious service. He was a lifetime member of the Association of Police Relief and the NH Retired Police Officerâs Association.
Additionally, Bob was a successful entrepreneur. He developed a thriving real estate business, owning many multi-family complexes totaling several hundred units while also shrewdly investing in the stock market.
He fervently enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife and family, embarking on numerous cruises to explore the world and often visiting Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
Members of his family, to whom he was known and revered as âPepere,â include his son, Richard P. Remillard and his wife, Linda, of Manchester; his daughter, Dianne Iller, and her husband, Dave, of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Alfred Remillard, Albert (Romy) Remillard, and Maurice Remillard; many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Laurette A. (LeBlanc) Remillard.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 5th, (11:00 am) at St. Elizabeth Seton, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH. His final resting place will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, in Manchester.
