Robert "Bob" N. Schober passed away peacefully at Elliot Hospital on October 10, 2026, with his loving family at his side. He was 69 years old. Born on May 14, 1957, to the late Robert H. and Marilyn (Condon) Schober, he would go on to marry the love of his life, Diane Esposito, with whom he raised two beautiful daughters.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1981 to 1991 as an aircraft mechanic in San Diego, California. He loved and cherished his years in the service, and his connection to the Navy remained an important part of his life long after his military service ended. He worked in the Navy for more than 10 years and later worked at the VA laundry facilities until his retirement.
He was also proud of his education and graduated cum laude from Devry University. Bob was a man of many interests and simple joys. He loved anything related to the Navy and enjoyed making model planes and other craft. He collected baseball caps and always looked forward to watching his Chicago Bears on Sundays. He also loved watching the Army-Navy football game each year. Robert found great happiness outdoors, especially in his garden. He loved caring for his flowers and vegetables, and his sunflowers held a special place in his heart. He also had a lifelong love of astronomy and enjoyed learning about the stars and planets.
In 1990, Bob moved to New Hampshire after meeting his wife, Diane. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Robert was family-oriented, had a huge heart, and treasured time spent with those he loved most. He was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Church for many years and remained a devout Catholic throughout his life.
More than anything, Robert loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Diane Schober; his daughter, Jacqueline Schober-Trudeau; his son-in-law, Mike Pelopida; and his beloved grandsons, Eliseo Pelopida and Marcus Schober. He loved his grandchildren immensely, and they brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Pelopida; his father, Robert H. Schober; and his mother, Marilyn Condon Schober.
Robert will be buried at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on Monday, November 16 at 2:00 PM.
