Robert G. Wentzell

Robert G. Wentzell, 85, of Bedford, NH, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, following a period of declining health.

Born on September 19, 1940, in Somerville, MA, Robert was raised and educated locally. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. Following his military service, Robert worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Providence, RI, for approximately 20 years. He later served as Assistant Sexton at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Providence and worked as a representative for Census 2000. He also served as a security guard in Providence for several years.

Robert will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his strong work ethic, and his love of simple pleasures. He enjoyed walking in nature and had a fondness for classic television shows such as Perry Mason, Ironside, and Murder, She Wrote.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Brennan) Wentzell, whom he wed on December 30, 1995, and shared nearly 30 years of marriage. He was the father of Patrick Wentzell and Leslie Wentzell, and stepfather to Louis Berendes, Julia Mandeville, and Sharon Berendes. Robert is also survived by his brother, David Wentzell, and 3 step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his siblings Janice, Judy, Joan, and Paul.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
