Rodney Allan Dollar, age 81, of Concord, NH passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.
Rodney is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ellen Dollar; his children, Jessica and Todd Dollar; his grandchildren, Abby and Elle Dollar and his brother Robert Dollar.
Born in Woodbury, NJ, on November 19, 1943, Rodney spent his early childhood in Lago Maracaibo, Venezuela, where his parents worked for Gulf Oil. He later moved to the southern United States, attending military schools before settling in Central Florida. Rodney graduated from Clermont High School in 1963, went on to study at Pasadena College in CA and later earned an associate degree from Hesser College in NH.
A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Rodney was stationed in Zweibrücken, Germany, during the Vietnam era. He continued his service in the Naval Reserve into the early 1980s.
Rodney enjoyed a distinguished career, beginning with Western Union Data Services, before spending 25 years in sales and professional services with Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard. After retiring, Rodney found fulfillment in a second career as a school bus driver, where he had the pleasure of transporting students to sporting events.
Above all, Rodney was a devoted father and husband, deeply involved in raising his two children and supporting his wife with unwavering love and commitment. He was a caring neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand. An avid golfer, Rodney cherished the time he spent on the course—a passion he enjoyed throughout his life.
A committal service with military honors will be held at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH, on March 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Pembroke Pines Country Club, 45 Whittemore Road, Pembroke, NH.
