Roger P. Arel

Roger Pierre Arel, 82, of Bedford, NH, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born on April 3, 1934, son of the late Roland Arel and Lillienne (Nadeau) Arel, and was a loving husband to Beverly (Mortlock) Arel for 64 years.

Roger attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a 1953 graduate of West High School. As a young man, he was a partner in the family restaurant. Later, he worked in sales at various electronic companies including Jewell Electronics, Ammon Instruments and Tel Labs. He was a real estate agent and became a partner in the real estate firm McFab and Associates. In his later years, he established his own woodworking business.

Roger was a charter member of the Bedford Rotary Club and served as president in 1981 - 1982.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his grandson, Anthony Ferko. He leaves behind his wife, Beverly Arel, of Bedford, NH; his son, Peter Arel, of Manchester, NH; his daughters, Shari Ferko, of Plano, TX, and Donna Arel, of Bedford, NH; his sister, Louise Gunter, of Campton, NH; his granddaughter, Allison Ferko, of Valdez, AK; and his great-grandson, Alex Ferko, of Allen, TX.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 1-3pm and 4-8pm. A second visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 10-11am, with a service in the funeral home at 11am. He will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua following the service. Family and friends are invited to attend.
