Roger (Butch) Boucher, 74, of Clemmons, North Carolina (formerly of Jaffrey, New Hampshire), passed away unexpectedly at Davie Medical Center in Bermuda Run, NC on November 3, 2023. Born on January 11, 1949, to the late Laurianne (Malo) Boucher and Roger Boucher, he was the beloved husband of Lorraine Boucher for 53 years.
Throughout his life, Roger exemplified the spirit of an entrepreneur. He started his journey at the young age of 10, managing his paper routes and even hiring neighborhood kids to assist in newspaper deliveries. At 16, he joined a textile mill and swiftly climbed the ranks to become a second-shift manager. Roger then proudly served in the Army.
After his military service, Roger and his wife, Lorraine, embarked on numerous business ventures, beginning with a food truck company. They later acquired a campground and constructed homes in collaboration with his father, Roger Boucher. Roger worked at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center as a Medical Technician, enduring a heart attack at the age of 38, which he bravely overcame through a quadruple bypass surgery. This setback did not deter him, and he successfully owned and operated his own lawn irrigation and landscaping lighting businesses thereafter.
Roger was truly one-of-a-kind; he had the remarkable ability to make anyone feel like a friend from the moment he walked into a room. An avid card player and a jovial prankster, he brought joy to those around him. He cherished traveling with his wife Lorraine and friends, spending many years vacationing in their place in Aruba and their winter home in West Palm Beach, Florida. They enjoyed going on cruises and exploring new places together.
Roger is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Lorraine, his brother Lou Boucher, and his brothers-in-law Charles Lavalliere and Ronald Lavalliere.
He is survived by his loving sister, Debbie Downing of Advance, NC, and her husband, Chuck Downing. Roger was the "best" foster dad to Dawn Fenner, and he is also survived by his brother-in-laws Richard and wife Lorraine (Smith) Lavalliere, Maurice and wife Louise (Dionne) Lavalliere, Paul Lavalliere, and Tammy Barry, Frank and wife Diane (MacEachern) Lavalliere, George and wife Mona (Poulin) Lavalliere, and Bill Lavalliere.
