Roger J. Grimard, 85, of 578 Hevey St., died April 7, 2001 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on January 12, 1916, the son of Alfred and Marie (Lavoie) Grimard and had been a lifelong resident of the City. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He had been a machinist with Sylvania for over twenty years. He was a parishioner of St. Jean the Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his tractor and belonged to the NRA. He was the widower of Beatrice (Daneault) Grimard who died in 1988. He was predeceased by a son, Gerry Grimard. Family members include his daughter, Diane Valade of Deerfield; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours are at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Jean the Baptist Church. Burial will be in St. Augustin Cemetery.
