Roger W. Hutchins, 84, of Whitefield passed away on August 5, 2024, after a period of declining health. He was born on September 9, 1939, in Lebanon, NH, the first of 3 children to Gail C. and Wendell W. Hutchins.

After graduating from Whitefield High School, Roger served 3 years in the US Navy before attending and graduating from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist for more than 40 years, most of that time at Hutchins Pharmacy in downtown Whitefield.

An all-around lover of life, Roger was a jack of all trades known to dabble in all manners of recreation including airplanes, motorcycles, fencing, archery, snowmobile racing, and horseback riding. He loved music & movies and could often be found strumming a guitar or playing his harmonica. He treasured vacations in Maine with his wife and maple frosted donuts but more than anything, he loved people, especially his family and friends.

Roger was predeceased by his son, Randall Hutchins and is survived by his wife, Alice Kay Hutchins; two sons: Steven Hutchins and Jonathan Hutchins and four stepchildren: Stephanie Irwin, Kristi Mullikin, Stephanie Dunham, and Nathan Wallace; 5 grandchildren: Elisabeth Hutchins, Spencer Irwin, Dakota Stone, Ivy Packard, Ella Mullikin and Graham & Lacey Dunham. He also leaves behind his two sisters and brothers in-law, Nancy & Carl Hussey, and Wendy & Greg Michael.

Roger will be honored with a private family graveside service.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Summit by Morrison and North Country Home Health & Hospice Agency for their care, dedication, and compassion.
