Roger S. Sasseville, 82, formerly of Manchester, died July 6, 2004 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL. He was born in Manchester on August 20, 1921, the son of Arthur and Alice (Kirouac) Sasseville and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life before moving to Florida in 1986. He was the widow of Verna (Plourde) Sasseville who died in 1989. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He had worked for Manchester Paving for 10 years and for Lane Construction until his retirement. He was a member of Local 98 and also belonged to the American Legion Post 37. Family members include his son, Roger R. Sasseville of Manchester; a stepson, Paul Provencher of Manchester; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a brother, Roland Sasseville of FL; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9:00 in St. Pius X Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
