Mr. Roland C. Daigle, 83, of Manchester died Sunday June 17, 2007 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a battle with cancer. He was born on March 26, 1924 in Manchester, the son of Lawrence and Leonora (Pelchat) Daigle. He was educated in the Manchester School system. He was a resident of Manchester for most of his life. Mr. Daigle had most recently worked for Blue Line Express in Nashua. Previously he had worked in the Manchester Hosiery Mills, Auclair Trucking Company and Flavor Fresh. During World War II he served in the Coast Guard. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 633, the Eagles, Raphaels Social Club and Polaski Club where he played cribbage. He spent the winters in Las Vegas with his daughter. Surviving family members include his wife of 60 years, Germaine (Breton) Daigle of Manchester; daughter, Debbie Daigle of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Gilberte Rowland of Phoenix, AZ, 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his two sons, David Daigle and Richard Daigle. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Cathedral on Friday at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
