Roland E. Picard, 76, of 63 Leandre Street and formerly of 159 Glendale Avenue, died November 12, 2003 at Catholic Medical Center.<br><br>He was born in New Bedford, MA on May 1, 1927, the son of Emile and Alice (Marcoux) Picard and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He owned and operated a local Pepperidge Farm franchise in New Hampshire for many years and was a hard working and dedicated father and husband. He was the widower of Claire (Lessard) Picard who died in 2000. <br><br>Family members include four sons, Ronald Picard of Manchester, Richard Picard of Bedford, Daniel Picard of Manchester and David Picard of Sanford, ME; five grandchildren; a sister, Claire Smith of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.<br><br>A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 with the Rev. Roger Manning, Pastor of South Main Street Church, officiating. Urn burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
