Roland E. Picard, 76, of 63 Leandre Street and formerly of 159 Glendale Avenue, died November 12, 2003 at Catholic Medical Center.<br><br>He was born in New Bedford, MA on May 1, 1927, the son of Emile and Alice (Marcoux) Picard and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He owned and operated a local Pepperidge Farm franchise in New Hampshire for many years and was a hard working and dedicated father and husband. He was the widower of Claire (Lessard) Picard who died in 2000. <br><br>Family members include four sons, Ronald Picard of Manchester, Richard Picard of Bedford, Daniel Picard of Manchester and David Picard of Sanford, ME; five grandchildren; a sister, Claire Smith of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.<br><br>A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 with the Rev. Roger Manning, Pastor of South Main Street Church, officiating. Urn burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 9 Cedarwood Drive, Suite 12, Bedford, NH 03110.
