Roland Marcel Joseph Plante
BETHLEHEM, NH --- Roland M. Plante, 61, of Prospect Street passed away Sunday, January 26th at his home with his family at his side after a long illness.
Roland was born in Saint Victor, Quebec a son of Victorian & Irene (Beudoin) Plante on May 3, 1941. He worked on his family owned dairy farm while working as a sales representative for de Laval, a farming equipment company.
He moved to Irasburg, Vermont in 1973 where he continued to operate a dairy farm for several years. After selling his farm he worked as a drywall finisher for over 20 years employed by the Painters and Allied Trades DC 35 in Boston, MA. Roland was an avid outdoor sportsman. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Francis Plante of Bethlehem, NH; one son Julien Plante of Houston, TX; three daughters, Lucie Plante Huse of East Thetford, VT, Danielle Plante Derhs of Los Angeles, CA, and Monica Plante of Bethlehem, NH; five grandchildren Amy Woodward, Ryan Huse, Chantal Huse, Erika and Jason Derhs; mother Irene Plante of Saint Victor, Quebec; three sisters Emilian Drouin, Gisele Isabel, and Jeanine Jolicoeur all of Canada.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Saint Patricks Catholic Church in Twin Mountain, NH with Rev. Father George Majka as celebrant.
Family suggest in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the North Country Home Health and Hospice, Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561 in Rolands Memory.
Funeral arrangements and care have been entrusted to the Pillsbury Funeral Homes.
