Roland Poisson, 86, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 10, 2018. He was born on February 1, 1932 in Manchester, NH, to the late Wilfrid and Alma (Houle) Poisson.
He was a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH, and worked as a textile machinist for Wambac Mills for 32 years. He was married to his beloved wife for 55 years, who will miss him dearly.
He was a loving family man who adored his wife and children. Roland was a strong and courageous man who never complained, even up to the end. His passions included woodworking, making clocks, gardening, bowling, and fishing.
He was predeased by his son Wilfrid H. Poisson, two brothers, two sisters, and brother in law John Dawson.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon O. Poisson; daughters Pamela J. O'Niell, and Michele H. Poisson; sister Helene Longchamps; brother in laws Thomas Dawson and his wife Agnes, George Dawson Jr. and wife Kristine, Robert Dawson and wife Betty; sister in law Penelope and Kenneth Simpson; six grandchildren; niece Jeanne Bourque; nephew Maurice Longchamps Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral and Crematorium located at 250 Coolidge Ave Manchester, NH, on Thursday February 15, 2018, from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Ste. Marie Church, located at 378 Notre Dame Ave, Manchester, NH on Friday February 16, 2018 at 10 AM. Burial will follow immediately at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
