Roland J. Proulx, 50, of Manchester, passed away on November 4, 2011 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.
He was born in Manchester on August 20, 1961, the son of Roland O. and Patricia (Lessard) Proulx and had been a lifelong resident of the City. He was a supervisor for PGM of New England where he had worked for 29 years. He was also a firefighter for 20 years and Captain with the Manchester Boston Regional Airport Fire Department. He loved to fish, play golf and ride his motorcycle. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. He was a youth baseball and hockey coach and was very active with the Manchester Boys and Girls Club. He was selected as Employee of the Year for the Fire Department and was named "Boy of the Year" for the Boys and Girls Club.
Family members include his loving wife of 28 years, Robin (Rene) Proulx; his parents of Rockledge, FL; two sons, Ryan J. Proulx and Riley S. Proulx, both of Manchester; three sisters, Janet Barton of CO; Jo-Ann Dame and her husband Rick of Manchester, and Jodi Morel and her husband Kenneth of Goffstown; and nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roland J.
