Mrs. Rolande (Provencher) Soucy, 87, of Manchester, NH died July 14, 2007 at Mt Carmel Nursing Home in Manchester following a period of declining health. She was born on September 11, 1919 in Manchester, NH the daughter of the late Alberic and Georgianna Provencher. She was a raised and educated in Manchester, attending the local schools. She was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Soucy worked at Dorson and Fleisher Shoe for many years. Mrs. Soucy was a lifelong member of St. Theresas Church. Her family had been instrumental in the founding of St. Theresas Church. Mrs. Soucy took part in the final Mass at St. Theresas Church. Most recently she was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. She was a member of the St. Anne Sodality of St. Theresa and now St. Anthony Church. Mrs. Soucy was very devout. She had a great devotion to the Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate under the title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. She was a great mother and grandmother. She was a very gregarious, humorous and fun loving person. Mrs. Soucy is survived by her daughter, Rita Perry of Manchester; sister, Rachel Archambault of Manchester, three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Romeo E. Soucy who died in 1996, her infant son Joseph Soucy and her two brothers, Horace and Armand Provencher. In Her Life: She is also survived by her son in-law Paul Perry of Manchester, whom she loved as if he were her own son. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Eileen Perry, Maureen Perry and Kevin Perry all of Manchester; her sister in-law, Yvette sherbut, who was like a sister to her; her godsons, Normand Provencher of Manchester and Donald Provencher of Merrimack. Rolande spent the last five year at Mt Carmel where she received great love, devotion and care by all of the staff. Her family is extremely thankful and grateful to all of the people at Mt. Carmel for their compassionate care shown to Rolande and her family especially during these last few days. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Church on Thursday at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
