Rollande G. Lacroix, 97, of Manchester, passed away peacefully in her home on April 24, 2024.
She was born on October 16, 1926, the daughter of Paul and Aldea (Lauzon) Gagne. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester and belonged to Ste. Marie Parish for most of her life. She worked for many years at different shoe factories and after they all closed, ended her working career at Jewell Instruments.
She loved playing bingo, taking photographs, and most importantly traveling. A big thank you to all of her many travelling companions – Leona, Jeannine, Lillian, and Simone, who enabled her to see much of the world.
She belonged to the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, the Daughters of Isabella and the Coeurs Joilleux, the happy hearts. She also was a frequent visitor to the William Cashin Senior Center to play cards with the many friends she made there.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Fernand Lacroix, sister Pauline Fradette, and brother Marcel Gagne. She is survived by her daughter Irene Rivet and her husband Mark; and sister in law Doris Gagne.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 3-6pm at The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 10:00am in Ste. Marie Catholic Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester. Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
