Mr. Romeo P. Clement, 89, of Manchester died Monday January 22, 2007 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. Born on August 31, 1917 in Manchester, the son of Alfred and Amanda (Rivard) Clement. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. He attended St. Edmunds Grammar School and St. Joseph High School and West. Mr. Clement had worked at JF McElwain for thirty years and later worked for another 30 years at Saint Anselm College. He was a parishioner of the former St. Edmund Church. He was very active in the church and was instrumental with the Beano Committee. Mr. Clement enjoyed gardening and clam digging. One of this greatest loves was spending time with this grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Raymond Clement of Manchester; daughter, Muriel Clement Lively of Dunbarton; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Gerard of Salt Lake City, UT; 3 sisters, Theresa Daniel of Goffstown, Pauline Thibaudeau of Goffstown and Madeleine Gauthier of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Clement was predeceased by his wife Grace (Demers) Clement who died April 28, 2005, several siblings and two grandchildren. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00AM at The Abbey at Saint Anselm. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
