Romeo A. Girard

Romeo A. Girard, 95, of Manchester died May 5, 2004 at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Girard was born on April 24, 1909 in Manchester, the son of the late Omer and Ora Belle (Perusse) Girard. He had been a lifelong resident of Manchester and worked as a shoemaker at J.F. McElwain for many years. Romeo was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an avid gardener and loved the Montreal Canadians. Family members include; one daughter, Diane Light of Litchfield; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Girard was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Aurore (Ferland) Girard, one son, Francis Girard and by two daughters, Joanne Girard and Claire Girard. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester on Sunday, May 9th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
