Romilda D’Onofrio, 94, of Manchester, NH, passed away at home on March 16, 2025. Born in Gesualdo, Italy on November 1, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Vincenza and Anna Pompeo. She was married to the late Alfred D’Onofrio, who predeceased her in 2000.
Romilda spent her younger years in Italy, moving to the Boston area just before turning 18. She and her husband, Alfred, raised their family in Everett, MA, where she lived for many years, moving to New Hampshire after his death to be closer to family. She enjoyed spending her summers gardening and canning and spent all year cooking beautiful meals for her family. She loved to be with her grandchildren and proudly taught them how to cook and even taught them some Italian. Above all else. Romilda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished time spent with her loved ones.
Romilda is survived by her sons and their wives, Joseph and Patricia D’Onofrio of Ohio and Anthony and Teresa D’Onofrio of Manchester; her sisters, Maria “Nancy” Chiumenti of Maine and Cesira Villeni of Italy; her grandchildren, Jordan D’Onofrio and his wife Meredith of Manchester, Abrianna D’Onofrio of Derry, and Quinn D’Onofrio of Manchester; with one great-grandchild on the way.
