Ronald E. “Ron” Bouchard, 88 of Bedford and formerly of Manchester, passed away on October 15, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
He was born February 10, 1935, the son of the late Charles E. Bouchard and Marie E. (Demers) Bouchard. He attended Assumption Prep. and was a 1953 graduate of Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and New Hampshire Air National Guard serving 11 years.
Ron worked in the printing industry for 70 years. He began working at Derryfield press at the age of 18. Owned and operated Print Inc., then was Operations Manager at Keystone Press before retiring at 67, at which time he opened RB Associates Printing Consultants until September of 2023. Ron was extremely active in youth Baseball and Football in Manchester. He was very passionate and proud of his accomplishments in coaching and mentoring Manchester’s youth. He brought Pop Warner football to Manchester and was the founder and 25-year coach of the Manchester East Blue Devils, during which time he had a State Championship in 1975 and an undefeated State Championship season in 1981. Ron also was the Co-Founder of the Manchester East Little League where he coached for 11 years and served as President. He was a Co-Founder of the Manchester Pony League and coached there for 2 years as well as serving as President. He was President and Coach at Manchester Central Little League where he established the Sam-Harris Tournament and Coached Jutras Post American Legion Baseball for 2 years and coached St. Anne’s CYO Baseball for 3 years. Ron was involved for many years in Racquetball as a player, coach, and tournament coordinator. He was especially proud of placing 2nd in the age 70 category at the Racquetball National Tournament in Houston TX.
In addition to his parents, Ron was pre-deceased by his sister, Theresa (Bouchard) Bourbeau. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Bulger) (Provencher) Bouchard; his two sons, Daniel Bouchard and his wife Maura of Bristol, NH, and David Bouchard and his wife Janice of New Boston, NH; two stepsons Stephen Provencher and his wife Pam of Merrimack, NH, and Scott Provencher and his wife Jennifer of Canton ME; his grandchildren Ryan, Shannon, Allison, Kara, Samantha, Megan, Hannah, Jillian and five great grandchildren; and with nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Monday, October 23rd from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24th at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. There will be a private committal service with military honors at the NH State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to NH Spina Bifida Association (sbagreaterne.org).
