Ronald R. Demers, Sr., 68, of 671 Amory Street, died August 31, 2002 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on March 18, 1934, the son of Delphis and Alice (Desrochers) Demers and had lived in the city for most of his life. He wintered in Florida for over ten years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a paratrooper while serving in the military. He was a member of the Elks Club, Alpine Club and the American Legion. While in Florida, he belonged to the Moose Club. He was the widower of Annette (Prenoveau) Demers who died in 1965 and Lorraine (Berube) Demers who died in 1990. Family members include five sons, Michael Demers of Manchester and FL, Ronald Demers, Jr., of Manchester, Robert Berube and Daniel Berube, both of FL and Dean Berube of Manchester; six daughters, Claire McIntire and Theresa Bennett, both of FL, Diane Wilusz of Merrimack, Denise McGarry of New Boston, Ginny Rainwater and Teri Berube, both of FL; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Leclerc of Manchester and Claire Demers of AZ; a brother, Bert Parent of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church. After cremation, urn burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
