Ronald Nicholas Payne

Ronald Nicholas Payne, 75, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his home after a long courageous battle with ALS.

Ron was born the son of Dominick Anthony (later became Richard Anthony Payne) and Theresa (Savello) Piantedosi on September 10, 1934 in Cambridge, MA. He spent 3 years in the Army during the Korean War and 25 additional years in the Army National Guard having achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired from Hitcheners as an industrial engineer and was also a member of First Congregational Church of Littleton where he was a Sunday school teacher. His passions were being on the water on his buccaneer sailboat or in the woods where he loved the outdoors and camping. He also enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and he and his wife had enjoyed raising cockatiels. Ron was an accomplished engineer and inventor and was the creator of the water-soluble flux. He will be most remembered as a true friend and would rather go without than to see someone in need.

A loving father, husband and friends, he leaves: his wife, Debra F. (Dangora) of Bethlehem, twin daughters, Jennifer Joy A. Payne of New York and Angela Rose Cannon of North Carolina, sons, Ronnie of Boston and Stephen of Holderness, NH, a sister, Gloria Jean Guiggy of Topsfield, MA, two grandchildren and host of extended family and friends.
