Rosaire M. Yergeau, 84, of 12 Pond Drive, died March 5, 2002 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home. He was born in Manchester on January 29, 1918, the son of George and Clementine (Deshais) Yergeau and had been a lifelong resident of the City. He attended local schools and Hesser Business College. He had been employed by the United States Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in North Africa and Italy, where he was wounded in action. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star Metal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion, Wm. H. Jutras Post #43. He was a member of the National Retired Federal Employees, the AARP Chapter 3657 and the Last Mans Club. Family members include his wife of 48 years, Jeannette (Babineau) Yergeau; two sons, Armand Yergeau of Manchester and Richard Yergeau of Braintree, MA, two daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Patricia) Godbout of Nottingham and Mrs. Cecil (Gertrude) Jordan of Manchester; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren' a brother, Andre Yergeau of Manchester; a sister, Doris Giardina of Lantana, FL; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt.
