Rosario Bill J. Fortier, 90, of Manchester died unexpectedly on February 28, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center. Bill was born on October 29, 1914 in Manchester the son of the late Edouard and Victoria (Baillargeon) Fortier. He retired Chicopee Mills after 35 years where he was a loom fixer. He then worked for the state armory for five years working in maintenance. Mr. Fortier was very active, keeping busy around his house, even until his last days. His pastimes include, deer hunting and fishing, and particularly enjoyed trout fishing. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and was a parishioner of Ste. Marie Parish. Bill was husband devoted for 69 years. Family members include; his wife, Blanche (Desmarais) Fortier; two nieces, Sr. Pauline Lafond and Yvonne Ingle both of Manchester; three nephews, Lucien Lafond, Donald Lafond and Norman Lafond all of Manchester; and many great nephews and great nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Lucien Fortier and by a sister, Marie Jeanne Lafond. Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 3rd from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marie's Church on Thursday morning at 10 oclock with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
