ROY HARRIMAN CURTIS
FRANCONIA, NH -- Roy Harriman Curtis, age 97, formerly of Lisbon, passed away on November 2, 2005 at the Lafayette Health Center.
Roy was born a son to George L. and Mary (Harriman) Curtis on July 26, 1908, in West Sumner, Maine. He attended schools in Maine.
Roy married Geneva Kelsea Gilbert on November 17, 1940. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army and served in World War II in North Africa as a cook. Roy and his wife lived in California for 25 years before moving back to Lisbon. He retired from the plumbing and heating industry at the age of 60. Roy enjoyed gardening and traveling. He catered many meals for the Lisbon seniors at his home as well as the Lisbon Town Hall.
Three stepchildren and many nieces and nephews survive Roy. He lived with Warren and Genevieve Wetherbee in Lisbon for five years before entering the Lafayette Center. His wife, Geneva, predeceased him on April 11, 1992.
SERVICES A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the Lisbon Shared Ministry Brick Church with Rev. Lyn O. Winter officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia.
