Roy B. Williams

Roy B. Williams Sr., 93, of Meredith NH, passed away on October 16, 2020 at the Golden View Health Care Center. Born on January 19, 1927 to the late Arthur & Daisy (Austin) Williams, he would go on to marry Noreen Ripple in 1953, with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage.

Roy was born in Bethany Oklahoma, raised in Texas and brought up his family in Quincy, MA. He would eventually retire in New Hampshire with his wife. As a teenager he joined the US Navy and served on the USS Marcus Island aircraft carrier for several years, and later served in the US Air Force Reserves. After his service, Roy graduated from East Nazarene College and would later enjoy many years as a salesperson and entrepreneur, having worked at Colgate Palmolive and other enterprises throughout his career.

A devout Nazarene Christian, Roy stayed tied to his faith until his last day. In addition to his faith, Roy was a lifelong baseball fan, and will rest easily having seen the Red Sox win a world series in his life. He was a man of simple pleasures, enjoying being comfortable at home, meeting new people and spending time with his loving family. Roy loved his family more than anything in the world, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Roy has now joined his wife Noreen in heaven. He is survived by his son R. Brooks Williams Jr.; daughter Kate Hoffman and granddaughter Stephanie with her husband Chris & grandson Shane with his wife Kaitlyn; son Paul Williams and his wife Maryanne and grandson Andrew with his partner Kara & grandson Adam with his wife Cayla; daughter Kimberly Williams and grandson Akira with his wife Vicky and granddaughter Jade; brother Joseph Williams with his wife Ann; sister Virginia Williams Terrell; 10 great grandchildren with an 11th on the way; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Roy's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to pastor Tracy Davis for being a constant source of guidance and comfort in Roy's life; as well as, the staff of Golden View Health Care Center for their loving care for the past two years.

Roy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for immediate family at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
