RUBY ELIZABETH HEATH
FRANCONIA, NH Ruby Heath, age 91, passed away at the Lafayette Center on February 27, 2008.
Ruby was born March 5, 1916, a daughter of Goldie Chase and Bertram Herbert, in Littleton, NH.
Ruby grew up and lived in Franconia her entire life. Ruby and her husband, Bill bought the family-run Franconia Village Store in 1956. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was very active in community affairs throughout her life, especially with the Franconia Community Church, and was part of the Heifer Project group that drove a school bus through the United States, down into Guatemala, for the children there. Ruby's life adventures also included earning her pilot's license sixty years ago. She loved traveling throughout the world and hiking the local countryside, and was always ready to go on a moments notice.
Ruby is survived by four children; Bill Heath of Franconia, Tedde Corcoran of Bethlehem, Pamela Yarosh of Franconia, and Steve Heath of Franconia; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill and her long-time companion, Roy Curtis.
SERVICES -- Calling hours will be held at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, located at 101 Union Street in Littleton on Friday, February 29th, from 7:00 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Franconia Community Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st with refreshments following.
