Rudolph L. Trovato, 78, of 36 Rand Street, died June 27, 2004 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Manchester on April 7, 1926, the son of Louis and Carmella (Finnicherio) Trovato and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 668. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church. Rudolph loved to play golf and fish. He enjoyed collecting and fixing antique clocks and was an all around handyman. He also spent much of his time rescuing homeless animals. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Sylvia (Howe) Trovato; a daughter, Sharleen Durost of Manchester; a sister, Rose Flanders of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 in St. Pius X Church. Committal services with military honors will take place at the convenience of the family later this summer.
