Rudy Duplessis, 70, of Weare, NH, died in Manchester Monday, February 25, 2002. He was born in Gardner, Ma., on October 15, 1931, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Cormier) Duplessis. Before moving to NH in 1960, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft of Bridgeport, CT., and the David Clark Company of Worcester, MA., where he worked on several projects for NASA. During the Korean War, Rudy served in the Navy as an Aviation Electrician on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Bennington stationed out of Quonset Point, R.I. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal with European Clasp. Mr. Duplessis was self employed as a General Contrator. His passion adventure led him to become a Private Pilot through the Civil Aeronautics Administration and flew his own classic, antique tail-dragge airplane, a J-3 Cub and a PA-16 Clipper. Throughout his life he enjoyed dry-fly fishing, scuba diving, downhill skiing, motorcycling, gardening and fresh water aquariums. He was responsible for the electrical engineering for two private hydroelectric plants in the State. Rudy desired to impart is fascination with learning of different types of science and technology (of how things work and why) to young people. A scholarship fund is planned to further his work in education. He is survived by his wife Judith Denise (White) Duplessis, three brothers, The Reverend Omer Duplessis, OMI, of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; Bertrand Duplessis of Otter River, MA., Martin Duplessis of Otter River, MA., five sisters, Florine Duplessis of Manchester, Ruth Allard of Linwood, MA., Doris Meunier of Templeton, MA., Valerie Vallee of Linwood, MA., and Anna-Mary Durand of Ware, MA., several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
